kespeedo asks: "Ike, whats the weirdest gift a fan has ever given you?
Hanson answers: By and large, a dog. We had the dog for a year or so, then the dog died. But we don't recommend people giving us dogs. That's the last thing we need.
wakkogurl asks: "who's your fave celeb?"
Hanson answers: (Isaac) Cindy Crawford, or maybe Jonny Lang, although he's more like a friend than a celebrity to me.
hansontta asks: "You're worked with Jonny Lang and John Popper on your latest album, who do you hope to work with next? \\ 3 kim from livingston, nj".
Hanson answers: None of us had any idea that we'd have an oppnortunity for Popper or Lang to play on this record, it was just one of those things that happened. So, it'll be hard to predict what'll happen on this record.
hitz143 asks: "Isaac, i've noticed your guitar skills are improving every time i see a new performance do u have a lot of time to practice?".
Hanson answers: I wish I was practicing more than I am. Most of the time the schedule is so busy that I spend time writing songs instead of practicing my chromatic and blues scales. I wish I spent more time practicing.
bohemian asks: "Why did Hanson perform "Kate" by Ben Folds Five at the Richmond concert?".
Hanson answers: We had some friends that really liked that song, and we're fans of Ben Folds Five, so we though it would be a nice little twist for the show to throw that one in there.
charliegirl0 asks: "Hi! We're from Australia and we were wondering what was the highlight of your trip to Sydney in March?".
Hanson answers: I enjoyed getting a chance to just walk around the city. It's very beautiful. The fans of course in Australia are incredible, so it was nice to just walk around and see the city.
hitz_ashley asks: "..11Tay we loved the Mick Jaggar thing at Arlington did you plan that? Ashley. 13, Texas".
Hanson answers: It's good that you caught and understood what I was doing. It was actually a dare from some of the band members. They dared me to walk across the stage like Mick Jagger, do the little Jagger strut, and they bet me that I wouldn't do it, so I did.
facelesscrowdcom asks: "hey hanson! has there been any embarassing moments on tour so far? if so what? -Cari New York".
Hanson answers: There's always embarrasing moments. From messing up solos to singing the wrong words to slipping off drum risers trying to step off, so lots of things.
taysgirly asks: "What is your favorit song to sing Tay?-love ya!-tarah".
Hanson answers: A Song To Sing 8-)
ag477 asks: "When you write music what normally inspires you?".
Hanson answers: Everything in life can be an inspiration, it can be looking out the window and noticing something that just strikes you, or having a feeling about someone or about something, and that could inspire you. Maybe you've written something down, an idea or a lyric or a poem, and it strikes you and you're inspired by that. Everything in life can be an inspiration and that's the wonderful thing about music and songwriting.
rehanson asks: "When you will come back to Brasil? We love you here!- Renata D´Addio, Brasil"
Hanson answers: We hope to come back to Brasil very soon. We're hoping that after our US tour we will head south and hopefully go through Mexico and all across South America.
boreas asks: "Hanson, what are your favorite books and do you enjoy reading in your free time?".
Hanson answers: Probably All Quiet on the Western Front, I really enjoyed that book. Or Sir Arthur Conan Doyle books, to name a few.
zachanie16 asks: "Alright, we say your lovely cooking skill on snick. Do you guys really cook?".
Hanson answers: Yes, we can cook, but we don't do it very much, and we don't do it that badly (as bad as you saw it on SNick). We enjoy cooking, but by no means are we chefs.
hansontta asks: "speaking of songwriting, what was your favorite part of the songwriters hall of fame induction?
Hanson answers: At the end of the ceremony where we were singing with Benny King, Paul McCartney, Carol King, James Taylor, James Brown, Phoebe Snow, Erin Nevil, Neil Diamond, I would say that was just about the coolest moment of the night, very possibly one of the coolest moments of our lives.
one minute please more to come!!!
sugargap030: what's the strangest thing you've ever been asked to sign? Isaac: Underwear of all shapes and forms. And I’ve never signed any of them.
Hanson answers: Definitely don’t write them out. Sometimes I record it on a tape player, and that way you’ll remember it, remember the chords, remember what key it’s in, etc.
turandot asks: When you write songs, do you actually write them out on staff paper or do you just jam and create them that way? Can't wait to see you in Boston! Kim
Hanson answers: Definitely don’t write them out. Sometimes I record it on a tape player, and that way you’ll remember it, remember the chords, remember what key it’s in, etc.
amanda78 asks: If you were to ever chose a different profession what would it be?
Hanson answers: I’d be an artist, or a graphic artist, although I do some of the graphic arts for Moe.
spiffy asks: If you could change one thing about the music industry, what would it be?
Hanson answers: Give the artists more power.
junebabiel asks: Hanson do you ever recognize your fans?
Hanson answers: Yes, definitely. Some more easily than others. There are a lot of people that come to tons of different show,s and we really appreciate their support, and we’ll take this moment to thank people who come to multiple Hanson shows. Thanks for being supportive.
pinkstar asks: Once your busy schedule calms down, will you come visit us here on Hanson.net more often?
Hanson answers: Yes, definitely. I’ll go and try to visit Hanson.Net more period. Hopefully you’ll see us online on a regular basis.
alexd asks: What's your favorite part of Hanson.net?
Hanson answers: the fan site, the opportunity the fans have to create their own information and express their own opinions. That’s the most exciting thing for me/us, seeing what fans think and how they express themselves. The chats and message boards can be fun and interesting too.
hitzgal15 Konbonwa asks: (good evening) What do you reckon you'll be doing five years from now? arigatoo gozaimasu (thank you very much) Sayoonara
Hanson answers: A lot of music, and hopefully, talking to Hanson.net members a lot, and keeping , doing new and unusual things along with the same old stuff.
howardj asks: What 5 CD's are you listening to now
Hanson answers: Ben Folds Five, Cars greatest hits, Vertical Horizons, Everything You Want, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Californication, and Billy Joe’s Innocent Man.
hollyjfan asks: Would you trade in your success today if you could have a normal life again?
Hanson answers: NO, not in a million years. I love what I do, and I love my life. It has it’s upsides and its downsides, but I’ll take the ups and the downs so I can continue to do what I love.
hanson_chick asks: Is there anything you do before a concert to get you hyped up and in the mood? Also what do you do after the concert?
\\*\\~Megan \\& Laura\\~\\*
Hanson answers: On this show in particular, before the show we were changing the set list and making it different every show. We always just kind of review things with each other to try and improve. Let’s Rock this Joint. After a show, you critique yourself. You tend to look at what when wrong and how you can improve. And just sit down and rest, because most of the time it’s pretty exhausting.
hotyellowglow aks: howdy hanson, are you going to be making a tour video or live album from this tour?
\\*hotyellowglow\\*
Hanson answers: Most likely not a live album, but we are always documenting what’s going on. Everything from concerts, to backstage, to on the bus to every day stuff. So we hope to release a long form video real soon. That will be a goal. When it will be released, I’m not sure.
moeturtle asks: So far, what has your most memorable concert this year been?
Hanson answers: Hmm…. Probably Los Angeles and New York shows. John Popper played with us in LA, and Jonny Lang in NY, so those shows are pretty high on the list, so it’s always fun to share the music and the stage with fellow musicians and get them to put in their two cents.
lindsayh asks: What is your all-time favorite store to shop at? I love Nordstrom!
Hanson answers: A music store. Places with instruments, keyboards, drums, etc. It’s always fun to go into a music store. You always find yourself wanting something and wishing you could get it, but you don’t really need it.
faragher asks: Hanson what do you have planed for halloween?
Hanson answers: I haven’t thought that far ahead. I’m probably going to be offshore, so I don’t know. Hopefully something fun.
alexd asks: what's up with the beef stew incident??
Hanson answers: Well, there’s not much to it. We drink soup during a show to keep our energy up, and it’s a beef broth, and taylor has some with him on stage and accidentally instead of water, he thew the beef soup into the audience, and then realized what he had just done then felt bad about it. Then threw some water on them, to maybe get rid of the beef stew.
more to come, hold on
What was it like playing with Jonny Lang last night?
Hanson answers: It was awesome to play with him. It was our very first time to really play together, and it's been a long time since we've seen him, so it was a really cool moment for us.
If you could play another instrument, what would it be and why?
Hanson answers:
The saxophone, because I think it would be cool to be able to play. Why? I don't know. I like horns and the saxophone would be a fun one to learn how to play.
If you could write a song for all the world to hear, what would you want to tell them?
Hanson answers: Don't let your life pass you buy, and find a purpose, and live with that purpose.
If you had one hour a day without interruptions, what would you do?
Hanson answers:
Hmmm... I'm not sure that an hour is quite long enough. I have plenty of hours to myself without interruption... maybe go out to dinner with someone and not have to worry about interruptions, although that happens all the time. That's the best answer I can give.
Which do you prefer, being in the studio, touring, or doing radio shows?
Hanson answers: It's a tie between touring and recording. They're very different. Recording is a very creative time. You're taking the songs you've written, and you're shaping them into what you want people to hear. Being on tour is a time when you just let your emotions flow and you're just playing music with all your heart for all the people that are there to see you. Going to radio stations is fun, but I don't think it's that high on my list.
What do you look forward to the most during a concert?
Hanson answers:
I would say the acoustic set because that's the time when the music means the most, and the music says the most. I think that's really important for people to have to understand the meaning of the songs that you're trying to express.
Where did you get the idea for the song Beautiful Eyes?
Hanson answers: That was originally a love song that changed very quickly into a very sad song about a man losing his wife and the fact that he sees his wife in his daughter's eyes, and how much he misses her. You get ideas out of thin air. I don't think songwriters really know where they come from.
Do critics affect the direction of the next album more than the number of albums sold?
Hanson answers: It's great when critics respond positively to your music and your shows, it's very cool and a great feeling. It's nice to know you have people who respond to it and feel like what you're doing is enjoyable and good, but at the same time, it can't be the basis for you doing anything. The only basis for you doing anything is how you feel about it and what you want to express and what you want to go forward doing. I appreciate the positive critics, but they won't affect the outcome of the next album or tour or anything. They're merely observers.
Hanson answers: ... but they will not determine the outcome of a record or a tour or anything. They're merely observers.
Hanson answers: Last question
What was the last movie you saw?
Hanson answers: The Patriot. I didn't get to see it when it came out, and I saw it about a week ago. It was a good movie, I liked it.
Hanson answers: a bit more \\;)
Hanson answers: Next week, we've got a cool new feature launching on Hanson.Net. It's called "Ask Hanson/Hanson Asks" where you guys can ask us questions and we'll ask you questions too.
Hanson answers: Sorry for the technical difficulties in the beginning of the chat. Thanks everyone for coming to the chat. We hope to see you all on the net a lot more, and very soon. Thanks again.

A lot of us want to know about you and relationships. What’s the deal?
Isaac answers: I am currently in a relationship. But I can't speak for my brothers.

Hanson answers: A Song to Sing.
What's your favorite song on the radio right now?
Hanson answers:

How do you guys feel about doing your own special features on Hanson.Net?
Hanson answers: Maybe unique wallpaper. Maybe we'll each create our own unique wallpaper or something like that.
Hey Hanson, I wanted to know, do you see many fans on tour more than once and recognize them?
Hanson answers:
We do recognize certain people. It all depends on where they're sitting. Whether you can see them or not.
You published a book of sheet music for Middle Of Nowhere, do you plan on doing the same for This Time Around?
Hanson answers: We haven't yet, but it's possible we might, but there are no definitive plans.
What do you plan on doing after you're done touring?
Hanson answers: Take a break. Go home for a while then start focusing on the record and the new songs we've come up with on tour. Hopefully start recording around March. Of course that's tentative, schedules change.
What's your favorite thing to do when you don't have anything to do?
Hanson answers: Ride a Motorcycle. I ride a 400 dirt bike, a Honda XR.
Do you guys like pizza?
Hanson answers: Not many people don't.

Hanson answers: A pizza delivery boy. No seriously, I'd like to do graphic design. Maybe web site design. Maybe write, photography something like that.
Who would be your "phone a friend" from Who Wants to be a Millionaire?
Hanson answers: Probably our manager, Chris Sabec, because he always seems to have information about everything.
What are the chances of you collaborating with a rap artist?
Hanson answers: I guess it's possible but I don't think our music would make much sense with a rap artist. There are always possibilities, the music can always change.
So far, what has your most memorable concert this year been?
Hanson answers: Hmm…. Probably Los Angeles and New York shows. John Popper played with us in LA, and Jonny Lang in NY, so those shows are pretty high on the list, so it’s always fun to share the music and the stage with fellow musicians and get them to put in their two cents.
Real World or Road Rules?
Hanson answers:
Road Rules. They are a lot more interesting. They get to do more cool stuff. They don't get cooped up in a weird place. And at least you get to be on the road.
What do you guys want for Christmas?
Hanson answers:
A Palm pilot or maybe a small laptop computer. Besides that, I can't think of anything.

Do you guys listen to SKA music at all?
Hanson answers:
Not particularly. The only ska-related music I know very well is No Doubt.
Musically you guys seem pretty confident. Have you ever been really nervous before a performance?
Hanson answers: It's been a long time since I have been really nervous. At the songwriter's hall of fame, that was probably the most nervous I've ever been at one point. Probably because there were so many great artists and we were performing a new song. It was a combination of a lot of things. That's the only time I can remember being very nervous.
How do you find time on the road to do your schoolwork?
Hanson answers: That's just something you have to do. You have to MAKE time to do it. Of course you won't do it for a while, but then you have to make it up at a later date

Hanson answers: I'd probably make a compilation of all the songs of every record I ever had heard.
Do you guys drink coffee?
Hanson answers: I don't, but Isaac and Tay do.
What city has been the best place to play so far?
Hanson answers: LA was a good show for us musically. The band was very tight. Also, New York City was a great show.

3)

MODERATOR: "Ok everyone, it' about time to get started..."
Hanson answers: Hey everyone good to see you all in this Hanson.net chat... Let's hear your questions....!!!
Soundscene asks: "Hey guys. I wanted to get your opinion on the state                                                                  of music now -- the boyband phase seems to be waning a bit and now it seems that rock bands have made a comeback, of sorts. You have Nine Days, 3 Doors Down, Vertical Horizon and Lifehouse, to name just a few. A lot of people, including myself, are having trouble distinguishing from band to band -- a lot of the same vibe. Do you see this happening and how do you think this trend will effect how your next album is received?"
Hanson answers: I think in the end good music will prevail. Its really cool that music can continue to change and can be put in the listeners' hands.
Soundscene asks: "You've been to a lot of film festivals lately and had mentioned that this was partly to get a feel for documentary film making in the hopes to put out your own documentary on the album recording process. Is this still a plan for this next coming album and what did you learn, if anything, from watching professional documentaries?"
Hanson answers: We were just at the Sundance Film Festival and it did inspire us for the documentary that we're working on. Hopefully that's going to coincide with the new album and you'll be able to see the real details of the creation of this record. It's been really fun to think about concepts for the documentary, I hope you'll enjoy it when it emerges. In connection with the making of this album you'll soon be able to visit Hanson.net to see pictures and videos of what happens along the way!
Taffie asks: "What do you envision or think of what you sing? Do you see pictures or ideas that remind you of the song or do you try to focus on being on-pitch (or whatnot)? (P.S. Happy Birthday,Tay :D)".
Hanson answers: Depending on the song, a lot of the times you need to picture whatever puts you in the mood to sing and portray the song the way it needs to be portrayed.
Boppycherry asks: "in your opinion, who should win the best movie academy award?".
Hanson answers: We've seen a lot of good movies this year. It's GOT to be between TRAFFIC and CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON!
Chels1440 asks: "What stage of recording are you guys in currently--are you still writing songs, or doing demos, or are you actually in the studio recording?".
Taylor answers: We are actually RIGHT in the beginning of the recording process. We've done some writing in the last few weeks with some other people and we're very excited about the new music. Hopefully we'll have an album out real soon. -- Crosses fingers --

Hanson_chick asks: "How is it different when you went to South America to being in the USA? \*\~Laura\~\*".
Hanson answers: Well, every country is different, but there are a lot of similarities. The fans are really great and they had a lot of enthusiasm. We had a great time getting to play concerts for those fans.
Alexd asks: "Can you hint as to who we may see on the new album".
Hanson answers: No, we have no plans to have outside players. But we DID write with some cool artists who we'll tell you about later. -- But then again, there were no plans for guest musicians on the last album.
Hitzgirlie asks: "Hey Hanson! Do you guys see a change in your fans from these past 3 years? Since a lot of us are more mature, do you seem to be noticing anything different, since all of the young fans are obsessing over groups with no talents? Happy b-day tay! Love, Kate".
Hanson answers: I think for decades there have been groups with no talent. So I guess it's your job to decide who are the talented ones. We're leaving it up to you to decide which one we fall into. We've seen a growth in our fans in the same way we've grown up and we hope you all will continue to grow with us.
Itzhnsner asks: "Hi Hanson! Now that you've recorded some of what will appear on your new album, do you feel that the sound and style is much different from 'This Time Around', or is the sound basically the same?".
Hanson answers: The sound has DEFINITELY changed a little bit. In some ways there are more pop elements, and in other there are more rock elements. You'll definitely see a change --
we hope you'll like it!
Crescentmoon asks: "If you could interview a celebrity and only had 10 minutes for the interview, who would you interview? And what questions would you ask?".
Hanson answers: Bill Clinton. What were you THINKING?!?

Kyla asks: "In 30 years- Which of today's musicians do you think history will remember? and who will have made the greatest impact on music? Do you think Hanson will have that kind of longevity ?"
Hanson answers: Cheryl Crow, Lenny Kravitz, U2, Radiohead, REM. That's just a few... Oh yeah and Aerosmith.. You can get their new album "Just Press Play" TOMORROW!
Kyla asks: "To what extent do you think that you owe your continued success and staying power to the internet? Many groups in the pre net days have come and gone- but yet Hanson remains...".
Hanson answers: I think a HUGE part of our fan base and ability to communicate with you has been through the Internet As long as you guys stay fans, we'll give you info over the net. Stay logged on to HANSON.NET!
Aprincess asks: "Will "Never Let Go", "Bridges of Stone", or "We All Know" (I heard them on Napster, sorry, I know you hate Napster)be on the new album? They are really great songs".
Hanson answers: We're writing so many new songs that it's highly unlikely that they'll be on the new album -- BUT you never know. You can always here them at the concerts.
Alexd asks: "Taylor -- People wanna know -- what's up with the new do?
Taylor answers: I just felt like cutting it -- so I did.
Zac adds: kind've like cheese..... :)
Alexd asks: What did you guys do that was cool while you were in NYC?

Hanson answers: We had a lot of meetings for the new album. And we also got to take in a great jazz show at the Blue Note.
MODERATOR: There are only two more questions remaining...
Lovehitzalot asks: Just for fun, let's pretend you had to live out,in real life, the situations in one of your songs. Which song would you want it to be and why? :)
Hanson answers: Man From Milwaukee. Why -- because nag champa grows wild on Albertane....
Monica asks: Is there any place on this planet that you have yet to visit that you would like to see?
Hanson answers: There's actually a LOT of places. We haven't been to Africa or India. Haven't been to Antarctica either, but I think we'll pass. We'd LOVE to go to New Zealand!!

MODERATOR: OK everyone. That's it for the questions. Hanson is going to bid you all farewell for tonight.
Hanson says: Thanks everyone SO MUCH for coming to the chat. You guys ROCK as always. Thanks for all your great questions. Stay tuned to "The Making Of" section of Hanson.net for the newest pics and videos from the studio. We'll talk to you soon! Love ya
        -- I/T/Z

MODERATOR: Hanson has left the chat.

4)

Hanson answers: Hello! Welcome to the chat!

roses_4_tay asks: "hanson are you there yet".

Hanson answers: Yes, finally! Thanks for waiting!

itzmoey asks: "Hey guys! I was just wondering if you were thinking about doing a double album? I think that would be totally awesome!! Thanks! Holly, Dallas, TX".

Hanson answers: At this point we've written so many songs we're actually considering that

musicalbabe asks: "Hey\~! You guys have opened up a lot of new bands to me such as Lifehouse and Travis(whom I really enjoy the music of) and was wondering if there are any other bands that you guys enjoy and could share with us? Thanks! \~\*Sarah Shoop of Bend Oregon\*\~".

Hanson answers: Well all those bands are really cool and it's always cool to pay tribute to the band that we like. We're actually going to be doing some guest chats very soon. David Garza next Wednesday and then Phantom Planet after that ...

lucile asks: "Hey guys ! You rock ! Your music is awesome ! I'm French and I'd like to know how it was like to work at the Chateau Marouatte in France ? Lucile, 20, France.".

Hanson answers: Yes we did enjoy France quite a lot when we were doing this songwriting the last couple of months. I actually ended up writing a song in France, which was a very cool experience. There's information in MOE 11 about France.

itzatwin asks: "When collaborating on a song, do you think you contribute more to the music, or the lyrics? - Whitney and Rebecca from Milwaukee, WI".

Hanson answers: It's easier if you collaborate in music because definitely lyrics are something you stew over for hours or weeks. You can't have music without lyrics and vice versa.

zarriah2001 asks: "When is the next issue of MOE going to be coming out?".

Hanson answers: Right now, MOE 11 is at the printers and we will be putting a preview out on HansonNet before we get it out in the mail.

itzatwin asks: "Is Ed Robertson of BNL as goofy in person as he seems? - Rebecca from Milwaukee, WI".

Hanson answers: Yes Ed is a very funny and cool guy to spend time with, and a very very good lyricist. He always has a way of coming up with creative and unique lyrics.

madelinehitz asks: "Zac said on the hotline that there could be plans for a tour before the release of the album? Is that still a possibility?".

Hanson answers: There has been a lot of talk for touring before the record releases because we are itching to get out on the road and play music. We also think it's a very good way to promote the release of the record, but we're still finishing recording the material now.

satomi asks: "Hey guys! I've been hearing many rumors about a documentary w/ the title of "Your Illusion." What exactly is the truth to these rumors and when would it be released?? forever your fans, Satomi, Nicole, and Toshi (Bay Area, CA Hanson fans)".

Hanson answers: (Taylor) We are recording a documentary right now, filming everything from the recording and writing to ... chatting on HansonNet. We're still not sure when it's going to be released because it's a documentary and they tend to take a while.

ashleechick16 asks: "13coke or pepsi".

Hanson answers: Dr Pepper!!

nettik asks: "What was the latest movie you saw?".

Hanson answers: I saw Moulin Rouge the second time and it was equally as good as the first. It's groundbreaking and it's shot really really beautifully!

damore asks: "HEY HANSON...THIS IS LUCY FROM BRAZIL AND I WAS WONDERING...U GUYS SAID U` D GO FOR MORE ROCK STUFF AT EACH TIME AND NOW U DECIDED TO GO FOR POP.....WHY DID U CHANGE UR MINDS??LOVE U GUYS!".

Hanson answers: You'd have to go with what you're inspired with musically. Noone ever changes their minds, you just have to follow your instincts. This next record will be unpredictable for sure, but we just hope it doesn't suck.

spiffalous asks: "I love you Alex!!".

naughtybee asks: "just interested to know if "wake up" was orginally recored for This Time Around or is it a newly recorded song?".

Hanson answers: We actually wrote Wake Up on the TGA tour. It's been on the top of lists for songs on this next record. We're psyched that you'll get a chance to hear it before the record comes out so you get to hear hints of what the record will sound like.

Minnie asks: "Hi guys, I'm from Brasil, and i went to 2 concerts in São Paulo... It was GREAT! I was wondering if in the next tour, am i going to see Taylor Or Zac at the eletric guitar, performing and stuff? It'd rock! =o) Laura, 17".

lamborghini asks: "Isn't it a bit unnerving that doctors call what they do "practice"?".

Hanson answers: We all wondered about that too

vicky asks: "would you strip for a million pound?".

Hanson answers: (Zac) I only strip for double my weight .... sorry.

taynvrletgo asks: "Will there be any footage of the concerts in the new documentary?".

Hanson answers: The documentary is mostly about writing the record and the song writing process. However there will be a lot of live music and possibly live performances, but it is too early to say .

Hanson Says:
Hey everybody, thanks for coming to the chat. We hope you haven't been waiting too long, let's get this thing started.

suzzie asks I was wondering if you're still working on the documentary? ...and do you still want to try and get it entered at Sundance?

Taylor answers:
We are definitely working on the documentary. We have begun the early parts of production for the documentary. We were hoping to get into the editing stages come January. So in regard to Sundance, at this point Sundance is going to happen before the documentary is done, but there are many other film festivals around the country that we'll probably be trying to get the documentary into.

loveless asks Being a musician is not easy. It takes a lot of studying and hard work. And when you get famous, you have to work even harder. Of all the things you have to do (recording the album, promoting it, touring, etc asks, what is the part of your job you enjoy the most and what is the part you'd choose just not to do it, if you could?

Taylor answers:
The most enjoyable part of being a musician is just that--playing music, being a musician. BUT it's got to be the writing of the song that really makes it the most enjoyable. The creation. You are able to take songs and concepts and make them into a reality. Take emotions that you conjure up and relate them to other people through the music. And maybe make people think a little bit about their life or what you're trying to say...if anything at all.

moe_tell asks : How has George Harrison's death affected you personally, and as a fellow musician?

Taylor answers:
Well, George Harrison is very possibly one of the most famous Rock and Rollers ever ... so it has to affect you somehow. I was very sad to hear that he'd passed away. I'd always hoped that there might have been some kind of reunion at some point of the three remaining Beatles. I think that this point though, that that obviously won't happen. The great thing about George was is that he may have died in the physical sense, but the music and that which he expressed through that may possibly live forever.

ashley16 asks : hanson, my name is Ashley and i would like to know what is you advise to people who want nothing more than to sing and thats all they dream about day and night but dont have any confindence in themselves to go out and do it? PLEASE ANSWER

Taylor answers:
Well, if you dream that much and you want to sing that much, then somewhere deep inside of you, you're bound to think that you are at LEAST pretty good. So go out there and do the best you can. Try your best according to that.

aLiShA asks : Hanson, have you been to good concerts lately? If so, which ones? (Alisha..MI)

Taylor answers:
Ben Folds, U2, Wilco, Phantom Planet, Michelle Branch,... but ny far U2 is the best. They still have a couple of shows left this year. So pay as much money as you have to see them because they are the best.

itzafanson asks What's the biggest arguement you've had between the 3 of you?

Taylor answers:
We've argued about so many things that I wouldn't be able to list one particular argument. Believe it or not, our most heated arguments are when we're in the studio--when you're putting it all on the line to make the best possible album. That's when the fighting gets the most intense. We've been lucky that we haven't held many grudges though.

loise4797 asks What made you decide to make a cameo on Frank McKlusky, C.I. and also Sabrina The Teenage Witch? Loise, CA

Taylor answers:
I think the reason that you do things like that is to get exposure in other areas of a possible audience. It's just kind of one of those things you do. You get opportunities ... someone says "Do you want to be in this comedy..." and you think it's very simple and easy to do. There's not much thought put into it.

tlctrsurs asks In the past, you have eluded to your spiritual sides in a very non-descript sort of way (everything to be read between the lines). In light of all the current events, have you felt it necessary to change direction a bit--even perhaps write differently? To be a little more bold and "out there"?

Taylor answers:
I think I've found it very positive and very constructive that people have found peace ... have found foundation in something other than themselves. I think it's very important because more often than not, you CAN'T explain anything more than yourself. I take songwriting and these things in a day to day manner. It is possible that you can allude to something more spiritual because of things that may have happened in your life. As for an overlaying theme on our record, or a stronger reference to spiritual matters, I really can't say.

nyhansonfan asks If you had any wish for this Holiday Season, what would it be?

Taylor answers:
I'd like to have a "white" Christmas. And maybe a little bit of relaxation and peace amongst the nation.

jenmbee asks Recently in a reply you made to a question in askhansonask, you mentioned that you enjoy classical music and I was wondering what some of your favorite composers were? Also would you guys ever incorporate classical music into your own, for example like Alicia Keys does with her music or how sometimes bands will play with full orchestras.

Taylor answers:
Classical music is the earliest form of modern pop music that exists, really. So of course, there are many situations which artists have incorporated classical music into their own, for example The Beatles, and Alicia Keyes. I think we're always interested in doing this. It all has to do with finding a piece of music that inspired you. Once you have that, the possibilities are boundless. We have also talked about incorporating an orchestra or choir into some form of performance or record in some more prominent way.

Karen01 asks Ike, I've seen you in concert 3 times now and have noticed that you often get into the music like you are rocking out or losing yourself in the music, so I guess my question is are you rocking out or losing yourself in the music? Or maybe neither and it just looks like that from the audience ...

Taylor answers:
I've found myself getting in to the music that often. Music is a way of becoming its own thing ... almost taking you on a ride as you are performing it. I know there are times that we've done shows that are nearly 3 hours long and I don't even notice it. I can almost snap my fingers and not even notice it. The music carrys me along .. but I've also been known to forget what I am doing, from time to time.

heymaura asks I loved the article about you and your grandma in Modern Maturity. She seems cool! Does your grandma go to Hanson concerts and have the CDs like we all do? And does she feel like a local celebrity after being on the cover of the magazine? Tell her we said hi! --Maura

Isaac answers:
Maura, I'm sure my grandmother will appreciate your greetings. I'll tell her you said hello. That was a very fun article to do. She felt like a local celebrity for a month. She's quite a lady, she does have every CD, every magazine and gets quite a kick out of it all.

leigh1 asks
If you could attend any concert from 1950 to 1980, other than the Beatles, who would you each go see and why?

Isaac answers:
I would have gone to see the Doors at the Filmore in the 60s. (You know that's an impossible question asks

damore asks
Hi guys i live in Brazil...and if u guys could choose other language to record an album....what would it be? i think spanish is a pretty language...thanks...Adriana D'Amore/21

Isaac answers:
Actually Portugese would be a very interesting language to record in. And I agree, Spanish is very pretty. We actually wrote a song in French, and I'm excited to translate pieces of that into other languages ... maybe Spanish. We'll see what after that.

annsuzan asks We would like to know, what Hanson's favorite or most memorable Christmas tradition is? Thanks a lot!!! ~Catie and Andrea

Isaac answers:
A Hanson Christmas is a very loud and boisterous one. One of the more recent traditions is to get a Christmas tree which is extremely large and difficult to set up. Last year's Christmas tree was 13 ft. high ...

tiffy asks Do you usually notice when your music evolves, that it maybe leans a different way than it did a year ago or does it even surprise you when it happens?

Isaac answers:
It absolutely surprises me. There are so many types of music that I can really get off on that it can really surprise me what songs I'm inspired to write. That's why we always talk about the album that we are going to write because of how it is all put together

jesnicole asks on the tta tour, you covered a few songs ("piece of my heart," "kate," "crosstown traffic," etc.) that fans might not have been familiar w/. what other songs would you like to expose fans to?

Isaac answers:
I'm not going to answer that question with a list of songs, but I can promise you that next tour we will play some songs you haven't heard before that you will learn to love.

meghan1985 asks Hey guys, how about making the last issue of MOE the BIGGEST issue ever?

Isaac answers:
The biggest issue ever? Meghan, MOE has just been the coolest thing for us to get to do. We'll make the last issue as cool as we can for you and for us. We'll put in all kinds of cool pictures and stuff to make it the biggest and best ever. How big should we make it?

dfs915 asks Have you heard the version of "Thinking of You" on the Baha Men's latest album? If so, what do you think of it?

Isaac answers:
No, I actually have not heard that. But I'm going to go check it out.

echo asks Hey guys, this is sort of a two part question...Do you guys find it hard to trust people not to tell things you don't want the public to know about? Do you feel more guarded about your personal life now that your in the spotlight so much? Thanks, Molly from Nashville

Isaac answers:
You know Molly, if we were that worried about it, then we could be pretty strange individuals. Wait I take that back, we are strange individuals. But you can't be too guarded about that. Your good friends are your good friends, and you're always just choosing them well.

psychokitty asks How much pressure does the record company give you in the type of songs you put in your album?

Isaac answers:
Well, the record label has a big role in making decisions as far as singles go and videos go. So there's a lot of interaction for that stuff going on. But when it comes to the music, that's all about us and the direction we'd like to take it.

savemeimdtba asks Hi Hanson, have you ever felt embarrassed to share your music with your parent? Since it does reveal your deepest emotions... Kristi, GA

Isaac answers:
I think emotions... if you're not afraid to express them to 100s of thousands, millions of other people in the world, I don't know why you'd be afraid to share them with your parents

Denisse De Monterrey asks Ok my name is Denisse Nolasco I'm 16 years old and my questions are: When you are going to write a song, what do you wrote first, the lyric of the music? and Are you going to relsease a video about the Tour This Time Around 2000?

Isaac answers:
Well, it depends on the song. Some of the songs are inspired by a lyrical idea. It depends on what song you're talking about. You can be led in different ways. In different songs, you can maybe trace where the original inspiration came from.

andforallthis asks Hey Hanson, I'm Erin Do any of you ever lurk at alt.fan.hanson?

Isaac answers:
No, I've never visited that site?

Ital asks Do you listen to reggae and do you know Joe Higgs?

Isaac answers:
Reggae is not number 1 on my list. I'll have to go check out Joe Higgs.

SusieT  asks How does what happened on September 11 effect you as a musical artist, where part of your job is traveling?

Isaac answers:
Well, just like any American, we're all just a little bit more aware of every plane that we get on, every seat that we get on in that plane, but we can't worry about it that much because life must go on.

littlelave asks Have any of you gotten a speeding ticket yet? Or any traffic violations? come on fess up!

Isaac answers:
Actually, I've had no tickets, but a few fender benders here and there.

dfs915 asks At one point, you had mentioned possibly touring before the album was completed. Are you still thinking of doing that? Any ideas on when you might be touring next? We're all looking forward to seeing you again! Thank you. --Debra

Isaac answers:
We were very interested in touring before the year was over, and I know many of you were skeptical of that, but we really had serious plans to try and make that happen. It looks like we will be doing a few select shows early next year before the next record is out, so hopefully you guys can come check that out.

raman asks How do you feel after singing the national anthem in public after the whole 9/11 events. I think it was a forbearer on the times to come ... but before the times, if you know what I'm saying ... gosh lol   ...

Isaac answers:
I've always taken singing the National Anthem in a very spiritual sense. I'm sure it means a lot more now, especially to young people, and it's something I don't ever want to take for granted.

dilllllon asks Do you feel the need to write spiritually and in perspective after the 9/11 tragedy so far as your songwriting is concerned?

Isaac answers:
I wouldn't put it on my list to write the next "Candle in the Wind" for America, but it is definitely a subject matter that strikes you when you're writing a song. I hope to write something that might strike a chord in other people. But at the moment, no ....

Iluv3 asks I know this sounds kind of morbid but if you could bring back one musician who has passed on, who would you choose? -cindy

Zac answers:
Good question, I'd bring back George Harrison, so that they could still do the 3 Beatle reunion.

nat29 asks Hey guys! I just wanted to know if, for the next tour, if you'll do the small theater venues again or the larger stadiums. Personally, (I know you want my opinion :p  I liked the smaller venues. It was so much more intimate and from every seat you could still see the stage. I think you should do that again :D LOL. But, you know, stadiums are cool too :p Cya next tour!

Zac answers:
That's a good question. When we come to that, we'll decide. But at the moment, I think we're feeling a little bit of both. But it'll all change once we get done with recording and start thinking in a more specific sort of way.

Allister asks So ... tell us ... when is the next album going to come out?

Zac answers:
Yeah, a question for all questions. Maybe it'll be next year, but plans keep changing and schedules get delayed or pushed up. So early-to-mid next year ... that's what we're hoping.

Zac Hanson Rulz asks What's a question that you guys have never been asked and want to be asked? Then consider yourself asked, and then can you answer it? Love always, Christine (16/Aus)

Zac answers:
Well, that's a good question, I guess. If I could only think of something. What haven't we...? I can only think of something slightly goofy. I have no idea. What's my favorite song in the world, ever? I'm going to try to answer this. Natural Woman.

ValerieC asks which of you sings french on the album? awesome langue! know any others?

Zac answers:
There is one song that Ike was singing in French. It isn't positive if it will make the album, but it is a very cool song.

hansonsbish asks From what I've read in magazines, you guys signed a 6 album deal with Mercury. This next album will be the sixth, correct? If that is the case, then what are your plans label/contract wise?

Zac answers:
That's not completely correct. It was a 9 album deal, but you're always thinking about things like that ... things you'll do: extend if you like the people you're working with, and things like that.

carpoolmom asks If you could put together a "dream" concert, who would be in the line-up?

Zac answers:
Beatles, U2, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and let's see who else? Willie Nelson! That's just a start!

hansonschumca asks
HANSON, If you had to pick one word to define the difference between this upcoming cd and "This Time Around" what would it be? X's and Oreo O's, Jasmin/FL

Zac answers:
Different.

Everyone asks Zac and Taylor - end the rumors - do either of you wear clear braces?

Zac answers:

We both wear them.

Kim asks Do you guys plan on keeping hansonline.com or are you just going to stick to hanson.net?

Zac answers:
At the moment, there are not any plans to drop any website.

Jared asks Do you still listen to vinyl lp's and if so, do you have a favorite?

Zac answers:
I do have a record player at home. I don't listen to records too often, but at this point it's difficult to find records on vinyl. But a couple of days ago I was listening to an old mariachi band on a 500 year old crank player, and the sound was just amazing.

Janet lol from Boston asks Did you meet Bababra Eden when you were filming the Sabrina episode?

Zac answers:
Yes.

jessicafein asks Who do you see as being the first to be married

Zac answers:
I've always seen myself as being last because I'm the youngest. But because of that I'd probably see myself getting married first because of the irony. I would ironically always think that I'll find myself last but find the right woman first.

joy asks Do any of you plan on driving a motorcycle

Zac answers:
Heck Yeah.
I believe it was Isaac first of all because he's older than us, I guess you are referring to a bicycle, but Isaac because of his age.

Zac Says:
Thanks so much for joining us and giving us all your questions. I hope we answered some that were puzzling you or that you would like to know. I hope to talk to you guys soon. I think that we're going to be putting up clips of songs so that you can give us feedback to what we are doing. So thanks and bye!!

MODERATOR SAYS:
OK..We have to go!
Thanks for all the great questions!
